Economy boost from high-tech SME growth

09 January 2012

Over the past year, the number of SMEs accessing high-speed business broadband and Next Generation applications like the cloud has increased by a staggering 40 per cent.

That means that more than 10,000 small- and medium-sized businesses have gained access to a network that spans over 80 per cent of the country, according to TalkTalk Business's SME Index.

Milton Keynes leads the way with a 52 per cent increase in the number of companies migrating to high-speed business broadband in 2011 – a quicker rate than even London, which saw a 44 per cent boost in numbers.

Andy Lockwood is our transformations director and he notes that as well as being "the gateway to the latest cloud technology", being on the right network "increases speed and efficiency, ensuring long-term economic growth".
