Unified communications (UC) could help small businesses prevent untold disruption caused by bad weather this winter.
Working together with officials from a range of bodies, including the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), Defra, the Environment Agency and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Zurich has put together a scheme to help SMEs cope.
The suggestions include ensuring you have a plan B, which can come in the form of a UC network that can be accessed from multiple locations – including your team's homes if they are unable to make it into the office.
This comes after Zurich found that two-thirds (64 per cent) of UK businesses were affected by bad weather last year, at a time when productivity is even more vital for survival than usual.
