Why TalkTalk Business?

At TalkTalk Business, we understand the challenges modern business face, whether you are a small start up business needing cost effective line rental, call tariffs and broadband, or a large corporation with complex business challenges.

Most importantly, we also have the experience and solutions to give you expert advice.

Whether your business is large or small, in need of business broadband a business telephone system or both, TalkTalk Business is the company for you. Over the past 15 years, we’ve worked with more than 180,000 businesses making us the UK’s leading provider of B2B data networking and telephony solutions.

We’ve invested more than £600 million in the UK’s largest Next Generation Network with more than 2,000 unbundled exchanges, which gives us 89 per cent coverage.

Just to put those numbers into perspective, that means we have twice as much coverage as our nearest rivals. The fact that we have the UK’s largest Ethernet network and handle more VoIP service traffic than any other UK network means that TalkTalk Business is a successful, profitable and growing company – and we want to do business with you.

So get in touch with one of our 600 business-minded UK-based support team and see just why we were awarded Network Operator of the Year in 2009.

Why TalkTalk Business?

Many providers can give you a couple of reasons as to why you should choose their business broadband or business telephone service, but here at TalkTalk Business, we can give you eight:

  • Scale
  • Coverage
  • Usage
  • Resilience and capacity
  • Quality of Service
  • Ethernet delivery
  • Support
  • Cost

Scale

The scale of the operation here at TalkTalk Business may come as a surprise to some, but certainly not those who are involved in the company and have seen it grow over the past 15 years.

In that time, our Next Generation Network has crept across the country and we are now delighted to have over 2,000 MPF and SMPF exchanges throughout Britain.

If those numbers don’t mean much, perhaps these will: we have three times as many exchanges as BT’s 21st Century Network and twice as many as Cable and Wireless. All of which shows how much of a big player we are on the business telecoms scene.

Coverage

Many firms who quote impressive numbers often have the vast majority centred around a small number of locations, so that in reality their coverage isn’t all that impressive.

However, it’s very different here at TalkTalk Business – we cover England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with our network. In numbers, that’s 80 per cent of the UK is on MPF and 55 per cent is on SMPF, leading to an overall coverage of a massive 89 per cent of the population and with our expansion plans, this number will only rise.

Our high level of coverage gives us access to 2.1 million businesses, which means our potential for further growth is absolutely huge.

Usage

We have a broadband base of 4.25m users, which has seen enormous growth in the last year, up from 2.8m in 2009. Why the jump? More and more businesses are getting wind of the high speed, reliable, flexible system that we can offer them and deciding that it’s a great way of seeing themselves through these difficult times.

Our network depth and multi-service platforms provide us with a unique marketing advantage over our competitors, so it’s not surprising that so many more businesses are looking to us over them.

The upshot of all these users is the amount of data that our network deals with is absolutely enormous: it manages 250Gb of general IP traffic every single second and 2 billion minutes of VoIP traffic each month.

Resilience and capacity

The amount of traffic our network carries would cause other networks with their century-old technology to struggle, but we have capacity to spare and the ability to handle even more.

The focus of our network is where the vast majority of business sites are – around London. Here we have an 800Gb supercore fibre network to handle all the demand around the capital.

On top of this, we have two 400Gb fibre rings around the major populated areas of the country and a number of 10Gb around less populated regions, all of which has a high capacity backhaul to the core network.

Quality of Service

There is nothing more annoying when making an important call than being subjected to terrible quality. It’s frustrating, it makes your organisation seem cheap and you could miss crucial details which could make or break a deal.

With TalkTalk Business, that won’t happen.

Our systems are Quality of Service (QoS) enabled, which means that the packets of information that your voice data is broken into are delivered in a timely manner. The result of this is your business telephone calls – internal or external – are delivered in crystal clear quality.

QoS doesn’t just benefit calls, but also any business broadband you get from us. With TalkTalk Business, your bandwidth is assured to guarantee that your data is given priority over residential traffic.

Ethernet delivery

TalkTalk Business’s service is also ideal for the delivery of Ethernet services, as we have deeply-built access to a number of locations. Primarily, this is due to the large amount of Point of Presence (PoP) we have. That is, we have over 50 PoPs in the UK alone, which means we can provide a connection of Ethernet services all over the country.

As a result, we can offer short access lines (sub-6km) which result in your data having less distance to travel and therefore be quicker.

Because of the way we have our Ethernet services set up, it allows us to offer service at a lower cost than most other providers in the industry – a saving which we pass onto our customers.

Support

The level of support we offer our customers is second to none too, with three tiers to make sure that no-one is left with any queries.

We offer you a dedicated business specialist, who is your point of contact and understands the needs of your business; a technical support manager who is here to answer any questions you may have; and we offer implementation and customer management with our 800-plus UK-based, business-dedicated, award-winning customer service personnel.

Cost

After all that information, whether you decide to buy your telecoms services from us ultimately relies on one thing – how much it will cost you.

We’re all aware of the phrase ‘spend money to make money’, well at TalkTalk Business it’s more a case of we spend money to save you money.

Our network has seen over £500 million of investment so that we can pass savings onto you – our modern technology is future proof, so we won’t need to pass on any upgrading costs to you further down the line.

And because of unified communications, you can consolidate all of your telecoms into one service, with only one bill to pay and only one provider to deal with – TalkTalk Business.
