Is using the internet for my WAN insecure?

Using internet infrastructure for your WAN does mean that every site on the network can reach, and be reached by, people on the public networks. So to create a manageable and secure perimeter, firewalls and secure routers are used to filter all site traffic that does not come from a trusted site. Keeping the filtering to simple, on the edge devices helps to keep the network secure.

Internet VPN uses the latest advanced encryption to protect traffic over the network. If all sites are on our internet access platform, none of your VPN traffic will leave our network.

Internet VPN has more security challenges than Managed IPVPN networks, but the risks are entirely manageable for most companies and the focus on security when deploying an internet VPN often means that you end up with a network that has more security controls than a comparable Managed IPVPN network.
