Our Managed IPVPN service offers, as standard, a hosted firewall service called the Network Firewall. This is a fifth generation security appliance that we host for you. All sites on a Managed IPVPN network use the same firewall (or optionally pair of firewalls) to connect to the internet. The same service offers support for internet VPNs, allowing international sites and/or home workers to securely connect to the company’s Managed IPVPN network, without needing an additional device.
A similar set up can be built for internet VPNs, as our firewalls have a feature called “hair-pinning” that allows branch offices to securely connect to a head office and, from the same firewall, immediately access internet facilities.
One firewall for a whole network is simpler, and thus more secure, than having many firewalls.
