A quick and reliable business grade broadband connection is the number one requirement for small businesses in the UK, according to a survey from the Forum of Private Business (FPB).
Four-in-five of the companies polled believe that access to a good internet connection is "important" or "very important" – the same amount of firms that believe that cheap energy is necessary for their prosperity.
Interestingly, companies appear to believe that business grade broadband is more important than roads and railways, suggesting that they think that physical distances are less of a concern as long as they have means to overcome them, such as videoconferencing.
