The rise of the 'bring your own device' (BYOD) culture has led to a nine per cent spike in sales of network security software in the EMEA region.
Figures from Canalys have shown that the sector was worth £431m in the final quarter of last year, as an increased number of companies took steps to prevent their employees' devices from infecting their networks.
Nushin Hernandez from the analysis firm notes that "the need for more integrated solutions has also become paramount", adding that "tougher compliance regulations are forcing organisations to deploy broader security capabilities".
The market for the software in Western Europe was particularly pronounced, with year-on-year growth of 9.7 per cent, whilst Russia and Eastern Europe saw increases of some 14.9 per cent.
