Accenture found that 83 per cent of senior executives across a range of countries believe that spending for sustainability is worthwhile, whilst a third of respondents admitted that they couldn't keep up with their customers' thirst for eco-friendly solutions.
They could keep up by opting for cloud-based solutions – the Carbon Disclosure Project believes that there could be a 50 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions if businesses consolidate their servers into one location.
On top of that, connectivity through the cloud can mean that employees could work at home or business can be conducted over video conference, which would further cut emissions by reducing the amount of travel required.
