More firms are using an Ethernet network, according to new figures from the International Data Corporation (IDC).
They show that the Ethernet switching market has expanded by a third (32.7 per cent) in the second quarter of the year, whilst the Ethernet routing market grew by more than a tenth (11 per cent).
IDC’s Rohit Mehra notes that the growth in the last quarter follows a large growth in first three months of 2010, primarily due to more firms using VoIP services and VPNs.
Large firms that are yet to experience the full benefits may wish to consider TalkTalk Business’s EthernetReach product.
This can be used to connect sites which may be spread across the country and provides them with a high speed, high capacity service, which allows applications to be accessed in real time.
