IT budgets are poised to decrease this year, meaning that SMEs will need to look at ways that they can receive better value for money.

Gartner has found that budgets are poised to go down slightly despite a growing number of business priorities, meaning that new solutions are needed and one of those could be a unified communications network.

This can mean that broadband and phone services will be pulled together and can be paid via one bill, whilst the boundaries of services can be blurred so that you can pick up messages on various devices, which will reduce waiting and improve the customer experience.

The Gartner survey also found that companies will be looking to combine analytics with other technologies this year, which will provide a greater level of feedback and allow resources to be focussed on key areas.
