There are still some companies that don't yet use the cloud, but TalkTalk Business has lent its expertise to a white paper which aims to break down the benefits of hosted services.
And there are certainly a large number of reasons why the new technologies are replacing legacy systems, including a reduction in costs, an increase in flexibility and a reduction in carbon as using centralised data centres results in less energy usage.
As TalkTalk Business's Andy Lockwood notes, "the vast majority of ICT services can be provided more cost effectively and technically better with higher reliability from a cloud service."
He adds that "as end users become more comfortable with the idea of relocating their equipment and services off-site, we will see a continued migration."
The paper concludes by noting that hosted services represent a "new frontier" for businesses that are looking for real-time solutions to their problems.
