Companies should make sure that their own network security and business continuity options are up to date after it emerged that the UK as a whole is lacking in its ability to respond to cyber attacks.
Nick Hopkinson used to head up GCHQ and he's told Computing that whilst working at the government's communication base, he was frequently struck by how the levels of preparedness were much higher in countries like the USA, France and Germany.
He told the publication that Britain's European allies had a much more cohesive and centralised strategy when it came to cyber attacks, compared to multiple bodies in the UK, whilst America began its planning at least two years before Britain.
Whilst the government in this country is taking steps to catch up through the cyber security hub, companies worried about attacks before a streamlined policy is worked out should contact TalkTalk Business to discuss how to best mitigate any potential problems.
