Internet VPN

Although lacking some of the scalability of Managed IPVPN, internet VPN is the most cost effective means of carrying traffic between sites of different sizes and geographical location.

Here are typical examples of how internet VPN is used:

1. An IT company recently outsourced planning and provisioning teams overseas, but needed to share CRM and voice data between sites. MPLS and private circuits could not cost effectively support the volume of traffic required. An internet VPN allowed them to invest in much bigger access services at each end of the connection, fulfilling their functional requirements.

2. A logistics company was struggling for capacity on their Managed IPVPN network. They could not afford to increase the size of their Managed IPVPN access services. We provided an internet VPN and split traffic into critical and less critical traffic, sending the less critical traffic over the internet VPN. This massively reduced traffic on their Managed IPVPN network and allowed them to continue growing their business.

3. A small and exclusive chain of clubs and hotels needed to share membership data between sites, but was concerned about data security. The encryption facilities of an internet VPN suited their security concerns far better than a comparable Managed IPVPN network.
